It’s time to dive into what YOU need to know for the upcoming May Monthly Finals!
The May Monthly Finals will be hosted across two days, on May 25 - 26. Both days will start at 14:00 UTC, so make sure to put that in your calendar! Now, let’s take a look at the starting bracket…
Tournament Format
So, let’s take a closer look at how we got here! The May Monthly Competition began with the Open Qualifier, where ANY team that signed up during the May registration period battled it out on Ladder until we found the Top 128 teams that competed in the May Monthly Qualifier. Over the course of the two-day Monthly Qualifier, the 128 teams clashed until only 6 teams remained - these 6 teams secured their spot in the May Monthly Finals!
Seeding for the May Monthly Finals is determined by each of the 6 team’s placement in the May Monthly Qualifier - the 2 highest-seeded teams will start in Round 2 of the Upper Bracket, while Seeds 3 - 6 will start in Round 1 of the Upper Bracket. Yes, that’s right! Placement in the Monthly Qualifiers is crucial for Monthly Finals seeding - the two highest-seeded teams will receive a bye in the first Round, and start one step closer to winning a Golden Ticket! The first two Upper Bracket Rounds and the first Lower Bracket Round will be played on Day 1 of the May Monthly Finals (May 25), while all remaining Rounds and Wars will be played on Day 2 of the May Monthly Finals (May 26).
